1- Hello Sudhir, can you please tell us a bit about yourself?

 I’m the Client Services Director at Catalyst, a marketing agency that specialises in helping brands grow through Account Based Marketing and Data-Driven strategies that use the latest digital tactics. Over 10 years I’ve been on the front line of sales and marketing as well as in management, which puts me in a strong position to help you engage your organisation and deliver successful marketing. I’ll challenge you, ask questions and push boundaries with a methodical approach that focuses on results – whether it’s a brochure, website or comprehensive inbound strategy. 2- What are your focus areas and why?

Delivering what we promise and ROI. For any agency to be successful and to truly grow, they need to have retained business. This can only happen if you are delivering quality service and ROI to your client base.

We’ve worked hard over the course of the year to focus on these areas and I’m happy to say that we’ve had some fantastic feedback and even won back some clients.

3- What influences your work? What makes you want to wake up every morning?

I love what I do and I’m a self-motivated individual. For me, every day is a school day and I want to be the best at what I do. Why? so I can deliver my clients the results they are after. For me Marketing isn’t a 9-5 job, it’s about constantly learning and evolving with the times.

For me, a mindset is everything and mine remains positive.  From 6am when I’m in the gym to 8 pm if I’m working late, a positive mindset and can-do attitude go a long way.

4- What is your primary focus in terms of self-developments at the moment?

Linkedin is a great platform, especially for social selling.  I will be focused on this and the integration of this platform with an ABM strategy.

I will also be working on becoming Account Based Marketing Certified.

5- Where do you think you are making an impact?

Account-Based Marketing.

Account Based Marketing in my eyes is ‘Zero Waste Marketing’, where sales and marketing work together to target key personnel in your key targeted accounts, rather than individuals. This allows for the overall focus being on having full visibility about your buyer needs and building with specifically targeted accounts.

We find and profile your target companies, conducting thorough research into the decision maker’s, annual business reports and marketing requirements to create super personalised communications. Your audience is special, so we set out to make them feel that way. This approach is designed to build stronger relationships and get your brand positioned directly in front of the people you want to engage with.

Whether it’s a dynamic direct mail campaign or subtle outbound emails, our strategic touch will drive results.

6- Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

Either working for one of the top agencies in the UK or running an agency of my own. I’ve been very fortunate to work with some great people and top directors who have influenced me in many ways. I guess I do have an entrepreneurial spark in me and I want to go as far as I can.

7- Can you tell us more about your work at Catalyst?

I rejoined Catalyst June 2016 with the challenge of revamping the agency with the focus being on service levels and agency growth. Over the course of the year, I was able to bring my vision to life with the help of the team around me.  Catalyst was a traditional full-service marketing agency, my vision was to stand out from the crowd and focus on delivering results based upon business intelligence and rationale.  Off the back of this, we focused on being an Account Based Marketing Agency.

On top of this, we also have created an agency which incorporates a hybrid cloud model.  We have our own personal network of freelancers which we can use as and when we need.  The benefit of this is that we can create the best team for a specific job or campaign.  This means the client can get a team with experience within their industry for the same cost.  The benefits to us as an agency is the quality of work and also fewer overheads as we only pay when we need them. So fewer bums on seats.

8- What can you tell young people who are pursuing their dreams?

Put the work in.  If you want something, go for it – this means investing time in yourself, self-learning, sacrifice and self-discipline, but it will be worth it in the long run.

Never stop learning, stay humble and most of all enjoy what you do.

9- What are you most excited about at the moment?

Agency growth.  We set a solid foundation and I’m looking forward to helping the agency grow and taking on board some new clients. I love the challenge but nothing is more satisfying than delivering results to your clients.

10- The last word or final thoughts?

Thank you for interviewing me. The future looks bright for Catalyst and its been possible because we collectively as a unit all strive for the same goal. A wise man once told me “teamwork makes the dream work” and he wasn’t wrong.
