- Hello Karl, can you please tell us a bit about yourself?
In everything I do, whether it is providing dental care to one of my patients or offering my time to any one of the charitable causes aimed at supporting our community in some way, I try to remain focused on developing meaningful, long-lasting relationships while also demonstrating an unwavering sense of compassion. It is because of this focus that I am so grateful to offer my assistance to all the patients I work with at Grand Lake Dental, the dental practice I founded almost two decades ago in Grove, Oklahoma.
- What are your focus areas and why?
The team at Grand Lake Dental focuses on quite a few different areas of dentistry, including cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, IV sedation, ClearCorrect clear braces, Zoom!, and teeth whitening veneers, not to mention cleanings, preventive dentistry, restorations, orthodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, periodontics, and endodontics, just to name a few. Obviously, it has always been our goal to provide outstanding, comprehensive care to each and every one of our patients.
- What influences your work? What makes you want to wake up every morning?
The patients we serve at Grand Lake Dental motivate my staff and I every morning and easily provide us with all the energy we need to ensure we consistently provide the exceptional level of care our patients have come to expect from our practice.
- Where do you think you are making an impact?
I think there are a number of ways I am making a positive impact in the field of dentistry, but perhaps the most significant impact relates to my efforts in emphasizing and reinforcing the importance of ongoing educational opportunities as well as the continued advance of technological innovations within the industry.
- Can you share with us more about “Grand Lake Dental”?
It’s a wonderful, patient-centered practice located in Grove, Oklahoma. My team and I are committed to providing individualized dental care to every patient who walks through our doors, and we offer patients the most advanced level of dental care due to our highly skilled team of professionals as well as our state-of-the-art facility.
- Where do you see the company in the next 5 years?
In the next five years, I expect that our practice will continue to serve as a model for dental practices all over the country, and it remains our intention to develop new and innovative techniques or technologies that enable us to better serve our patients.
- What are some things that most people don’t know about your job?
I think most people don’t realize just how seriously every dentist approaches the profession or how committed we are with regard to any opportunity for professional development, especially when it comes to ongoing education, advanced training, or certification programs. It’s been over 20 years since I was enrolled at the University of Tennessee School of Dentistry, but I continue to seek out any opportunity to learn new skills or to refine my existing skills in an effort to improve upon the level of care we offer our patients.
- What can you tell young people who are pursuing their dreams?
Dreams have to be taken very seriously and require a tremendous amount of time and effort in order to become reality, so make sure you commit to the pursuit of your dreams, whatever they may be, and refuse to give up on them until you have achieved each and every one of your goals.
- What are you most excited about at the moment?
From a professional perspective, I’m always most excited about helping the next patient. Personally, I’m most excited about anything that involves spending time with my lovely wife, Mary.
- The last word or final thoughts?
I’d just like to offer a word of gratitude to all the people who make the community of Grove, Oklahoma, such a wonderful place to live and work. I truly appreciate the unwavering support this community has provided my family as well as my dental practice over the course of the past two decades.
