Entering the world of camera lenses can be a pretty scary experience. The minute you get a DSLR camera, you’ll find out that you’ll need to purchase extra lenses for different photography situations. This is where it can get really troublesome because you’ll be clueless as to which additional lens or lenses you should purchase.

Most of the time people go with cheap lenses not realizing that they’ll only end up spending more money later on down the road especially if you are buying the lens outright new.

Cheap lenses are cheap glass and they can generate the wrong colors in your pictures and this can be very frustrating.

In this article, I will introduce you to the 3 great DSLR lenses (for the canon camera).

Now there are many companies out there that make digital SLR lenses but I won’t jam those in this article.

I’ll review them in detail here on this website.

Canon EF 50mm f1.8
You don’t need to spend a ridiculous amount of money to have a quality lens. The EF 50mm f1.8 is not the best lens Canon makes but the quality is more than exceptional. 50Mm lenses are very flexible not to mention it would be the 1st lens I’d purchase for my arsenal.

50Mm lenses require you to use foot zooming, what this means is you will have to move yourself back and forth to zoom in and out from your target.

Lastly, it’s a great lens to learn on, once you have the fixed photography down there isn’t any zoom lens you can’t work with.

Canon 17-40mm f4.0L USM
This is a fantastic wide angle lens but let me warn you it doesn’t run cheap. Canon does make 16-35mm model which is priced a little over $1,000 but when you go over the specs the 17-40mm sticks out as a better deal.

The Canon 17-40mm lens is great for scenery shots, the quality of the lens is just….If you have the money it’s well worth the investment.

Canon EF-S 10-22mm f3.5-4.5
The quality this wide lens captures is nothing short of astonishing. Not only is this lens lightweight but its silent which can’t be said about many lenses in its price range.

This is a lens for those looking to shoot landscape as well as macro photography.

The own bad thing about this lens is it’s not too kind to those looking to engage in full-frame photography.
