Interview with Dave, Business Development Expert at Massagetique

1- Hello Dave, can you please tell us a bit about you?
My name is Dave, and I do business development for Massagetique. My background is in sales & marketing with a specialty in the web.

2- What are your focus areas and why?
While I have always been fascinated with online marketing and entrepreneurship, I’ve been particularly fond of businesses that focus on improving the quality of people’s lives through mental and physical health.

3-How do you describe “Massagetique” in few words?
I think the best way to sum up Massagetique is via our values: Connection, Value, Education, & Inspiration.

4- Where do you think your company is making an impact?
I love the fact that Massagetique is helping business owners as well as those individuals who are seeking wellness practitioners. Many small Bodywork professionals have a very limited budget for marketing and growth, so I am thrilled that the barrier to entry for our offering is reasonable (we have a free offering!). Additionally, because we manually verify and review the credentials of those in our directory, we ensure that a customer can find a massage professional they can trust.

5- What is the biggest challenge you encountered while working to launch the company?
The biggest challenge for Massagetique was establishing a system to work in volume. There are over 350,000 Bodywork professionals in school in the US alone, so we wanted to make sure that in our initial planning, we would have the systems in place for scalable growth.

6- What the word “Wellness” means to you?
While the thought of Massage Therapy conjures up primarily thoughts of physical wellness, our vision at Massagetique goes far beyond the physical body. To me, ‘wellness’ means the mind, body, and spirit are in perfect harmony.

7- Where do you see Massagetique in the next 5 years?
We have ambitious goals for Massagetique! Our goal is to be the web’s leading resource for Bodywork professionals and have 10% (approx 30,000+) of US therapists included in our directory. In this way, our vast network of members will create a great portal for those seeking Massage Therapy in 1000’s of location across the US!

8- What can you tell young entrepreneurs who are pursuing their dreams?
Persistence is key! One of my favorite quotes about building a business is that you will “overestimate what you can accomplish is the first year, but underestimate what you can accomplish in 10”. Love that one!

9- What are you most excited about at the moment?
I am very excited about the thought of impacting so many lives in a positive way through Massagetique. While we absolutely want Massagetique to be a healthy organization financially, it is very exciting to think that the larger we grow, the more people we are able to help!

10- The last word or final thoughts?
I would encourage anyone in the wellness business to give themselves a pat on the back – it is a noble pursuit, and anyway that I can support them I will!
