1- Hello Marco, can you please tell us a bit about you?
Hi, I’m an independent software and game developer. I have to look into every aspect of game development from game design to marketing. Working alone on a project can be quite fun, especially because I have to learn the basics of many aspects that go into game development that would require a large team to accomplish, this expands my general knowledge on the field and really helps me improve my ability to independently create fun games.

2- What are your focus areas and why?
I used to focus more on developing computer games, however, I realized that mobile devices are becoming an important source of entertainment because they are literally everywhere. So I have been mostly focusing on developing mobile games that are free to download and play. I currently develop apps for iOS only but I am learning how to create games for other mobile app stores such as Google Play. My focus when developing games is to make them fun and entertaining to the user!

3- What influences your work? What makes you want to wake up every morning?
The fact that people play my games is really motivational, I think that it makes all the hard work that goes in to making these games worth it!

4- Where do you think you are making an impact?
I think that I am impacting entrepreneurs and developers that want to make apps for the purpose of entertaining others!

5- Can you tell us more about your last game?
My last game was called “Yard Rush” for iOS. The theme of the game is football, which is one of my favorite sports! The purpose of the game is to collect leather to build upgraded footballs. The user has to evade defenders and score field goals to earn leather and finally build the ultimate vintage football. This game is really different to my previous games in many aspects of the overall user interface and game design. I think I learned a lot in the making of this game.

6- With the mobile first era, what are the new rules of a Game Developer?
Nowadays it’s really important to research what type of games people like to play and to be creative and make an original game that entertains people and encourages them to check out your other games.

7- Where do see yourself in the next 5 years?
Hopefully, I will manage to be successful, grow my business, and have a lot more experience in the game making industry. Overall I really hope that I can learn new things that will allow me to make better games for everyone!

8- What can you tell young game developers who are pursuing their dreams?
As a young game developer myself, some of the best feedback that I can give is to keep on learning and enjoying the progress in their game development careers. I think that learning more about the game industry and development really helps grow as a developer. Also enjoying every step of the way is important because there are always going to be difficult tasks but to solve a task you need to keep trying with everything that you have learned until you solve it!
