Interview With Mitresh Sharma, Startup Enthusiast & Firstbud Organics’ Founder

1- Hello Mitresh, can you please tell us a bit about you?
I am first generation entrepreneur with over 5 years of experience in Digital Marketing. After completing my post graduation, I started working in a Korean marketing agency. But the firm I was working for, shut down. I did not know where to begin, but I knew that working for someone else is not my cup of tea. And when I got the chance of doing it, I was questioned at each point, be it by family members or friends. I agree that all they wanted was to make sure I am making the right decision, however, I believe everyone needs a chance or two to make mistakes and start over. I started my Entrepreneurial Journey (viral wave, my first business. Had to close it as we were not making money) five years ago and have encountered challenges at various steps, but have always faced them with a completely optimistic outlook, and I have loved each and every part of the process. For a really long time, I was alone and had to do everything from opening the office to closing it, something like a One-Man- Army. But I do not regret my decision, even for one bit. At least I don’t take orders from anyone else now.

2- What are your focus areas and why?
My main focus is the individual health. By individual health, I mean improving the functional and metabolic efficiency of each individual of India. Other focus area includes promoting chemical free products and fit and smart India.

3- From a digital marketing expert to organic products, why?
It was difficult to find genuine organic products, so our main focus was to come with a genuine product and work for it. When he started researching the market for the demand and supply of organic products we found that there were hardly any big sellers of real and genuine organic products in the Indian market.

4- Can you tell us more about “Firstbud Organics”?

5- Where do you think Firstbud Organics is making an impact?
Increasing use of pesticides in our food products leads to various health issues so we are making an impact on the health of our customers. The aim is to make quality products affordable to the consumer and create new opportunities for farmers. It is also making a great impact on the socio-economic condition of hilly women. It provides the common platform to the women cooperative in the remote Himalayan region.

6- Can you tell us about your main products and why your company is unique?
Our main products are:
– Tulsi Green Tea
– Slimbud Green Tea
– Refreshbud Green Tea
– Darjeeling Oolong Green Tea
– Chamomile Green Tea
– Raw honey
Our products are grown in the Himalayan region, soil is chemical free and with extra nutrition.Our green teas come in loose tea leaf and we use first flush and second flush tea leaves in our green teas.Our main focus is on quality and affordable pricing.

7- Where do you see the company in the next 5 years?
Organic food business will four-fold in 3-5 years, so there is a huge potential. We want to make our presence not only in metro cities but small cities too and increase our product line.

8- What can you tell young people who are pursuing their dreams?
I believe everyone needs a chance or two to make mistakes and start over
