1- Hello Ryan, can you please tell us a bit about you?
A little about me…. Let’s see. Well, I am a pretty shy person. I tend to be very solitary and conservative but I can be very outgoing if I need to. I love art and painting, of course, but reading, hanging out by the water, swimming, and writing are also big parts of my life. Fun fact—when I was a child I lived in Germany for four years, traveling around Europe.

2- What are your focus areas and why?
With myself, my focus areas are living my purpose with integrity, and being as positive as I can be. Those are everyday battles for all of us, so I am continually working on them, which his okay. Since I am a huge proponent of personal development, I work on myself every day.
For my career, my focus area is to grow my audience and increase awareness of my art. And the truth is, all that takes time and dedication. Rarely does it happen overnight.

3- What influences your work? What makes you want to wake up every morning and paint?
My love for the beach is what influences my work. I just really love water, swimming, and admiring the waves. I always have, ever since I was little. That peace and excitement I feel when by the water is what I try to capture in my palette knife paintings. And the truth is sometimes I don’t feel like painting. But you get in the studio and do it anyways. That is what makes a professional.

4- What is your primary focus in terms of self-development at the moment?
Being okay with the good parts of me and tapping into them. In other words, letting my true light shine through for all the world to see. So many of us get down on ourselves and choose not to notice our strengths. All we want to do is focus on our flaws and what we don’t have. The problem is when we do this, we close the door on ourselves. And that is the greatest tragedy of all.

5- Where do you think you are making an impact?
I’d like to think that I am making an impact with other artists who might not have that much faith in themselves or their abilities. In my YouTube videos my main goal is to encourage viewers to create art and do what they love to do. Not what others tell them to do, but what they WANT to. There are so many myths in the art world that have absolutely no merit. I try to break down those myths and remind artists that they are mostly societal opinions and not facts.

6- Can you tell us why beaches?
When I am at the beach, it is the only time I feel truly alive. Almost as if the entirety of my being is alive, capable, and vibrating at a higher frequency. It’s hard to explain really. And it’s the simple things about the shore I enjoy most—feeling the wind set through my hair, listening to the rumbling of the waves, and splashing in the tide. It is a magical place of quiet reflection.

7- Where do you see the company in the next 5 years?
I see it taking off and my art having a larger influence on people. And I know that I will get there. I’ve only recently started selling online and it takes time and patience to become established.

8- What can you tell young people who are pursuing their dreams?
I love asking people “how long should you work to accomplish your dream?” The answer is, as long as it takes! There is no finish line or final destination. You always get what you put in. If you put in a large amount of your time, money, and self-discipline into your dream machine, you will get back much much more. It just takes time, and most people don’t want to put in the time. They think “why keep plugging away when I am not seeing an immediate reward?” And then they quit. But at the end of the day, failure is no match for perseverance.

9- What are you most excited about at the moment?
Marketing my art online. It is exciting watching your art spread around the internet. I’m very interested in SEO, social media promotion, back-links, and all that stuff. There is so much to learn and do that you will never graze the surface.

10- The last word or final thoughts?
I love what I do! Do you? Keep stretching and searching and learning, and never stop. Become all that you can become, and give the assistance and support to others that you would want for you. We can call all help each other become successful, in all the areas of life. All we need to do is lend an open hand or a few words of encouragement.
