1- Hello Mr. Jacob, can you please tell us a bit about you?
I’m passionate about simplifying business. I started my first business when I was 10 years old, and have been going strong ever since. There is something about building a business and fixing business problems that gets me really excited. The Jacob Group focuses on one thing: We fix business problems fast.
2- What are your focus areas and why?
As a consultant, my focus is on instant business improvement. While many business processes are complicated, many business challenges can be broken down quickly simply by speaking to an expert. Fixing business problems can be accomplished quickly if you have the capacity to ask the right questions. I am able to get to the bottom of both simple and complex business problems by not only asking the right questions but answering them as well.
3-How do you describe “The Jacob Group” in few words?
The Jacob Group focuses on fixing our client’s business problems fast.
4- Where do you think your work is making an impact?
While I have helped many larger organizations, it is equally enjoyable and satisfying working with startups and early-stage companies as they typically have a different set of questions that need to be answered to excel.
5- What is the one funding tip that you think can help entrepreneurs and startups founder in the early stage of launching their businesses?
I speak to people all the time that are so in love with their idea or technology, that they haven’t spent the time to really explain it well. Some people call it an elevator pitch. I have re-coined the term “micro-pitch.” In today’s fast-paced, techno-driven time warp, entrepreneurs and business people literally have less than 7 seconds to get someone’s attention. The longer the story, the less it is real. I would recommend to entrepreneurs and business owners to get their pitch down to one sentence, then cut it in half. For example, I could go on and on about what we do at the Jacob Group. However, I boil it down to 5 words. We fix business problems fast.
6- Tell us about he Beautiful Start-Up Quiz, and how it can help entrepreneurs?
I speak to a lot of people about their startup, and I hear pitches everywhere I go. I had a guy pitch me last week while we were washing our hands in a restroom. I have heard some beautiful startup pitches, and some less than beautiful ones as well. I decided to write the beautiful startup quiz so that entrepreneurs can ask themselves the 11 most important questions I believe can be a framework for their entire business. I have made it free to anyone who asks.
7- Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
A little older, a little wiser, and hopefully I will do something that makes the world a better place to live by bringing more light to the world.
8- What can you tell young entrepreneurs who are pursuing their business dreams?
Take action. Say “Why Not” more often.
9- What are you most excited about at the moment?
I’m excited about the giant change that will occur over the next 20 years. The largest businesses in the world will be going through incredible change. Some will make it, some won’t. Companies that you have never heard of will be leading the way, new inventions will change the way we interact the world. The world of unlimited possibilities will be available to more people than ever before.
10- The last word or final thoughts?
I have found that businesses that have a higher mission than just the bottom line do better. Make a difference. Make the world a better place. Build an amazing business, and build an amazing world.
