1- Hello Bo, can you please tell us a bit about you?
“Ever since I can remember, creating and designing has been my passion. From the time I could hold a crayon, my imagination has always been flooded with inspiration. Some people are great at sports, some are great at cooking, me, I am great at bringing visions to life whether they are my own, clients, or even yours. The feeling of being able to create the dreams and concepts in someone else’s mind is truly a blessing that I am grateful for every day.”
“I am 24 years old, have an amazing girlfriend (Sky Coe) and 4 step-children, am a Marketing Coordinator for multiple brands within the family entertainment industry, and own Unsurpassed Art an e-comm website for custom canvas paintings and other artwork. I spend the majority of my free time playing with my kids, playing chess, creating digital instrumentals, and dreaming of my next great design.”
2- What are your focus areas and why?
It’s 2019 and social media has completely taken over as the tyrant of the marketing kingdom. My main focus area is around creating attractive and engaging content for our companies to utilize on social media platforms. From videos, images, infographics, advertisements, and so much more, I strive to push the boundaries of creative marketing and find new ways to engage with clients and prospects.
3- How would you describe the “SUMBA” in a few words?
SUMBA is the most trusted provider of safety in the family entertainment industry. We are certified through the IATP (International Association of Trampoline Parks) as a top-tier risk management and maintenance company for trampoline parks, adventure parks, and other similar venues. We pledge to protect your park from peril and keep your facility operational 365 days a year!
4- Where do you think the company is really making an impact?
The family entertainment industry has been the sole benefactor of SUMBA’s services up to this point in time. We have helped countless clients avoid haphazard customer injuries, attraction or facility shutdown, and providing our clients with peace of mind knowing that SUMBA has their back!
5- Do you think integrity is an essential part of the industry?
Integrity and honesty are absolutely essential in making a name for yourself in the family entertainment industry. If you don’t have a proven track record of success, honest salesmen who care about the client, and a remarkable customer service team to handle any issues that may arise, you will NEVER make it in the family entertainment business.
6- What advice would you give to companies just starting out and hoping to make it in the industry?
My advice would be to slow down & pace yourself. Often times I see so many facility owners dive in headfirst because they have all of the wonderful schemes and plans for their entertainment center and just start buying attractions and rides left & right without doing proper research on the manufacturers and providers. You may have a lot of great ideas, but you must ensure you are catering to your target markets wants & needs, not your own.
7- Do you find as an expert, that you enjoy the challenge of the industry being complex as the rules are always changing?
I LOVE MY JOB! I am in the business of engineering fun, which is an ever-changing market and always will be. While it may be a challenge adjusting to the overload of new ways to have fun that are released every year I wouldn’t have it any other way. Of course, there are always new laws and restrictions put in place each year by lawmakers as safety is the #1 concern in the industry at the moment.
8- If you could turn the time, what would you love to change in regards to your career?
The only regret I have in regard to my career is not finding my opportunity here at SUMBA earlier on in life. I have never worked for such an amazing company, with even more amazing co-workers. We are all truly one big family in our office.
9- What are you most excited about at the moment?
Right now, I am most excited for the launch of our evolutionary SUMBA App that is changing the face of safety in the family entertainment industry. We are working with VectorOne in Columbus, Ohio to develop this astonishingly powerful application that allows family entertainment center owners and employees to do inspections on their facility and attractions through the use of pictures and QR code scanning, order replacement parts with the click of a button, and provide 24/7 access to a SUMBA certified maintenance inspector to help with any on-site needs.
10- The last word or final thoughts?
I appreciate you taking the time to interview me and getting to know me a little bit better. SUMBA will be attending the upcoming IATP event in New Orleans, Louisiana 9/23/19 – 9/25/19 at booth 244, if you will be in the area please stop by, say hi, and check out our display!
