Interview With John Sottile, New York SEO Expert & NYC Serp Owner

1- Hello John, can you please tell us a bit about you?
My name is John Sottile. I’m a 24-year old entrepreneur from New York that graduated from the College of Staten Island with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing. I specialize in providing local SEO and internet marketing services to my clients.

2- What are your focus areas and why?
Right now, my biggest focus area has been local search engine optimization for small businesses. The opportunity to help brands gain more traffic and watch them grow is an awesome feeling. There are so many ways to find new leads online.

3-How do you describe NYC Serp in few words?
NYC Serp is a New York SEO company that specializes in providing the best internet marketing services to help business owners grow their brand. We like to stick to white hat SEO strategies that are safe for our client’s websites.

4- Where do you think the company work is making an impact?
Being able to help businesses make more money, and to be able to provide for their families, is an amazing feeling. Not many business owners realize how much money they’re missing out on by not having a website ranked. With so many people searching for services on Google daily, all of that traffic is calling up their competitors.

5- What are some of the SEO tips that you think can share with us, when it comes to starting a new local business?
A lot of local business owners believe that they don’t need to be active on social media to generate new business. They’ll try making a few posts with little to no engagement and claim it doesn’t work. That’s simply not the case. There’s a lot of work that goes into building up an active social media community. You need to consistently promote your content if you want to gain any traction and followers.

6- Tell us about your strategies?
For local SEO, I always make sure that my clients have claimed all of their brand profiles on every social media platform. These are free links that allow you to talk about your brand, so why wouldn’t you want to be on everyone? NYC Serp recently published an infographic that explains how only 44% of businesses have claimed a Google My Business page. This is one of the most important profile links you can claim, so make sure you do so if you haven’t done so already. Once all of the essential citations are secure, I focus on creating quality content that provides value for each client. Google will always prioritize quality content over spamming links.

7- The company is very known for a deep commitment to customer service, tell us about your experience?
Unfortunately, in the SEO industry, there are a plethora of shady SEO agencies. They will tell you how they can rank your website #1 on Google search in one month for just $100 (lol) take your money and disappear. We always let our customers know exactly what our strategies are each month so they always know exactly where their money is going. Keeping our customers’ websites safe is our number one priority.

8- What is one marketing strategy that you’re using and that works really well for startups?
One of my favorite internet marketing strategies is to create an infographic and reach out to influencers. While it may be a bit crowded these days, a high-quality infographic will still get the attention of your target market if the information and quality are exceptional.

9- What are you most excited about at the moment?
I’m always excited to be able to collaborate with new brands. I recently had the opportunity to collaborate with Empirical Designs, a local graphic design firm, on an interview for my interview series.
