I am the founder and owner of the RETRuly Vintage Marketplace. I am one of the pioneers of selling vintage fashion online & have been running an online vintage business for over 10 years. Over the years I have sold through our own website as well as eBay, ETSY and ASOS Marketplace.

2- What are your focus areas and why?
I am driven by the desire to help other sellers achieve the sales they need.

3- How do you describe your journey in few words?
Since our launch in the summer of 2016 we have been thrilled at the positive reaction and the rapid growth of our marketplace.

4- Where do you think you are making an impact?
As a dedicated vintage marketplace we are able to provide the visibility that our sellers are looking for. By keeping our fees low the seller can maximise profit.

5- Can you tell us about “RETRuly”?
We are different from the corporate marketplaces. Our team have a real passion of vintage and are on hand to provide tailored, personal support to our sellers. We even provide a Shop Starter service to get the sellers shop set up and import their stock from other marketplaces.

6- Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
We expect to continue to see strong growth over the coming years and plan to release a RETRuly Mobile APP.

7- What were some of the biggest challenges you encountered while working on “RETRuly”?
With a marketplace the first challenge is the chicken and egg problem. You can’t get the buyers coming until you have stock to buy. Our first few months was spent recruiting vintage sellers. Within 6 months we had over 100 sellers and over 4000 products so our focus has shifted to bringing in the buyers.

8- What can you tell young people who are pursuing their dreams?
Don’t keep putting it off. Spend your time creating a business plan, do your market research and then go for it.

9- What are you most excited about at the moment?
It is a really exciting time, now that we know that demand is there for our marketplace we are looking forward to scaling up to become the success that the market needs.

10- The last word or final thoughts?
After 10 years of selling it is really nice to be able to share that knowledge and help other sellers get started and maximise their potential, RETRuly provides the perfect vehicle for this.
