1- Hello Jimmy, can you please tell us a bit about you?

Yes, my name is Jimmy. I am a 29-year-old entrepreneur and Digital Marketer, specializing in SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
I’ve been passionate about business since I was young, selling Pokemon cards packaged with a floppy disk version of the Pokemon game for $100+ dollars.
In college (at the University of Michigan), I was involved in many different entrepreneurial projects, including someone who did Search Engine Marketing.
From there, I began to grow my expertise in SEM, SEO, and Digital Marketing.
Today I have a large SEO client based business and am a part owner of a few successful ecommerce websites.

2- What are your focus areas and why?

Client-side SEO is my biggest revenue driver. As Digital Marketing is the new commerce landscape, business owners need to take care of and present their digital flagship store (their website).
Business is growing each day and there is never a shortage of opportunities.

3- How would you describe JH SEO in few words?

JH SEO is a boutique Digital Marketing Agency designed to grow small-to-medium sized businesses.

4- Where do you think your work is making an impact?

My clients make more money after working with me; it’s pretty simple.

5- Most small businesses still can’t see the importance of SEO to upgrade the way they are doing business, what do you think about that?

Competition really drives people and businesses to be better, smarter and faster in changing. Depending on their type of business, they may be fine just having a big sign infront of their parking lot to attract business.
However, over time, these businesses will likely need to adapt as younger generations become business owners.
For now, I only interact with people who are interested as my lead generation comes to me so it’s not a big issue I deal with.

6- What the word “Consulting” means to you?

“Consult” means to seek information or advice. I don’t own the business but I aim to be a strategic partner for a specific aspect of their business to grow it.
As a consutlant, I am their strategic partner.

7- Where do you see the company in the next 5 years?

Getting larger, most likely. Doing business where interaction is a required aspect, the person and the service are both kings.
I put my client’s best interest 100% at the front and I know I’m doing a good job because they either stay as clients or they are constantly referring friends, family or business acquaintances to me.

8- What can you tell young creative SEO consultants who are pursuing their dreams?

Join a mastermind with other SEO’s. Go under the wing of someone who is truly a season veteran in SEO and someone who is willing to adapt and learn everyday.
SEO, like many things, is a fluid and dynamic industry to be in. What worked yesterday may hurt you tomorrow.

9- What are you most excited about at the moment?

Today! I give myself a scheduled day off every other Friday to mitigate burnout.

10- The last word or final thoughts?

Follow the trends.
The number of people who will own their own business, go into consulting, take on freelance work or be some variation of self-employed will be the new norm.
