1- Hello Yahya, can you please tell us a bit about yourself?
Hi, I would describe myself as a 27-years old hard working engineer and daring entrepreneur who like computers, more particularly the tiny ones… I mean systems on a chip that can run task continuously, rapidly and autonomously without any human intervention.

Even though most of my background is in engineering, I would say that I am also a sales person and a lean marketer. My interests are around technology Automation, IA, BI, and economy … But also, human science, music, arts, sailing, and aviation.

2- What are your focus areas and why?
Everyone is talking about IA and Machine Learning, and I think these things will somehow contribute to the betterment of our daily life, help us do our work quicker, sleep better, avoid accidents and even advise us about things that we ignore about ourselves. But for machines to learn, we need to feed them (feed) with data and this data do not necessarily have to come from our smartphones, emails, social media or even what we search on google. AI will also need data from Objects that may or may not be in our immediate environments. I mean, objects that we are familiar with and that we use already, but we don’t necessarily carry like TVs, bars, bikes, fridges, mattresses but also furniture (Seats, lamps, elevators, Air Con, etc.). All these Items can provide the internet with useful data, but also receive instructions from the internet. Once all of this data is on the cloud, then, a new sort of AI is happening and taking care of the rest. My focus is to make more of these objects capable of providing the Internet with useful Data.

3- How do you describe “MySeat” in few words?
MySeat is an IoT based solution for the workplace management. It is a set of products and a software suite that help managers learn from their work environment, rapidly and precisely.

4- Where do you think you are making an impact?
My feeling is that we contributed a lot to the introduction of a new to kind of tools to a substantial number of business executives and facility managers who handle large assets like International banks, Insurance companies, Software companies. By doing so, I believe we help to raise the awareness about “what IoT can teach us about our immediate environment.”5- Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
I do not have a crystal ball (yet), but I guess I will be doing exactly what I am doing right now: contributing to expanding the internet to physical objects that will help us acquire vast knowledge and achieve more productivity.

6- What were some of the biggest challenges you encountered while working on “MySeat”?
Well, since MySeat offers services to Businesses that are mainly large corporations, it is a bit challenging to move quickly. It is exciting to see traction from a big name of the industry, but it’s easy to be frustrated when you need more than a Month for the actual business to happen, right? Anyone selling goods and/or services to large corps can confirm that doing business with a large corporation is not cash-flow-savvy. If you want to survive, then you need to be lean and adapt to every-clients’ terms and rules, and this is what we retained as a temporary solution.

8- What can you tell young entrepreneurs who are pursuing their dreams?
Persevere !

9- What are you most excited about at the moment?
We’re working on the release of a 7th product and running a couple of thousands of data points with our clients. We’re discussing with new business partners that could help us “take it to the next level”. I am excited about the idea of probably having the capacity to bring more great ideas to life, and spread what I think is a good vision of the future.

10- The last word or final thoughts?
Make sure you drop by and leave us your questions or comments. Thanks!
